Straight Stair lifts

When looking for a stairlift to make your home more manageable its sometimes hard to know exactly what you need to make your life as easy as possible. Oakland is able to send out an assessor to determine exactly what stairlift will best suit you, for free.

The most standard and common type of stairlift that Oakland install are the straight stairlifts, this is because most stairs are straight up and down with no curve in them. This is the cheapest option when it comes to buying a stairlift as it's the easiest one to install, Oakland will send out their technicians who put in your stairlift and make sure you understand how to use it.

Straight stairlifts can be used for a curved staircase as well, Its often cheaper to install two straight stairlifts, rather than one curved stairlift. The reason for this is that a curved stairlift takes a lot more time and is far trickier to install than a straight one. When a combination of two straight stairlifts is used, there will be an assessment of whether you'll be able to reach the second stairlift from the first. Of course if you're able to do this then Oakland will go ahead with the installation, but there are other options for customers who can't transfer from one stairlift to another.

For a curved staircase there are a few options to choose from when it comes to stairlifts, the final one is a bridging platform. This is designed for staircases that are curved at the top but only for a few steps, if you're able to walk these final few steps then a bridging platform will be perfect for you. The stairlift will take you over the first and longest set of stairs, and the bridging platform will allow you to manage the last few steps up to the second floor.
